Believing that there’s a higher power that loves, values, and believes in you can be powerful, and even positive. Pairing it with an assertion that we are sinners deserving of eternal damnation, worthless in ourselves and doomed to failure, though? Not so much.  Click through to read more! Read more

I grew up in a conservative evangelical 五福彩票6688下载 in the 1990s and early 2000s, and I don’t remember hearing a lot about religious freedom. My impression, based on my own experience, is that “religious freedom” took off as a catchphrase on the Right at the same time that LGBTQ rights became increasingly accepted by the mainstream. I was interested in the same way I am any time I feel I’m watching history take place, and history clearly was. This wasn’t about Trump for me. I say this because we have reached a moment, today, when the Right is claiming the Left is politicizing the novel coronavirus, and that allegation is making me—frankly—angry.  Click through to read more! Read more

            That’s right.
